Kamaoa Rd - Walkthru & Public Hearing - Lynnette - 11-10-2010 For those of you who missed it, here's a link to the Big Island Video News story about yesterday's events: http://www.bigislandvideonews.com/2010/11/10/video-site-visit-hearing-for-controversial-kamaoa-road-in-kau/ Please keep this thread just on topic. We've all had enough of the slander going around. Just some logical input would be a nice change since it doesn't seem like this will be resolved for a while. RE: Kamaoa Rd - Walkthru & Public Hearing - Rob Tucker - 11-10-2010 Thanks Lynette and Big Island Video News, That was very informative. RE: Kamaoa Rd - Walkthru & Public Hearing - Lynnette - 11-10-2010 I would like to point out, in the nicest way possible, that the statement by Paul K. saying they can’t get to hunting grounds is really just about one family. Everyone knows each other along South Point Road. It's a really small community. If you want to go hunting on someone’s land you pick up the phone and ask. No problem…..it’s a respect thing. If someone buys land out here are they just supposed to let someone come onto their land with dogs and guns without permission?? RE: Kamaoa Rd - Walkthru & Public Hearing - Rob Tucker - 11-10-2010 well, from the outside looking in I would say three things: 1. There appears to be enough of the public wanting the road to remain public to justify it remaining public. 2. The news on Chris Yuen's research on the road history may well wipe out any theory that the CoH has no need or interest in maintaining ownership. 3. I see no downside to the property owners if the gate is removed and the road is public. The talk about cattle getting out is a red herring. Cattle owners need to maintain their own fencing and gates. RE: Kamaoa Rd - Walkthru & Public Hearing - Lynnette - 11-10-2010 Rob, Just last night, an hour after the walk-thru while we were at the Public Meeting, Teri's lessees' cattle broke through her fencing right onto where we all were walking. Three large cattle had to be chased back into Teri's land by a Kaniho family friend. Maybe if the public stared down a large cow x 3, frantic because they weren't in their usual place, the gate being closed wouldn't sound like such a bad idea. Also, there was another cattle/car collision early this morning on the way to Pahala. When you live & work in cattle country, it's something you have to watch out for. RE: Kamaoa Rd - Walkthru & Public Hearing - Rob Tucker - 11-10-2010 Happens all the time in cattle country. One more gate doesn't eliminate cattle getting out. Sounds like Teri might need to work on her fences or get a smaller and less anxious breed of cow. One thing I learned on my grandparents farm was if you have a problem cow.... eat it and its not a problem any more. I own cows too by the way. RE: Kamaoa Rd - Walkthru & Public Hearing - Lynnette - 11-10-2010 Funny, funny man....always good to have around. RE: Kamaoa Rd - Walkthru & Public Hearing - Eric Schott - 11-10-2010 Rob, Lynette or whoever she is when she's not using an alias is jerking your chain. The grave site bearing the families name on a large placard is unobstructed and one may drive right up to it once you get past the gate and its keepers. This fact was photo-documented yesterday by WHT reporter Nancy Lauer, ask her. As for the loose cattle, the claimant has zero credibility as someone who has a problem telling the truth, much like her hero former Councilman Enriques. Losers make good bed fellows. RE: Kamaoa Rd - Walkthru & Public Hearing - StillHope - 11-10-2010 The kaus are running loose.Again... ___________________________ Whatever you assume, please just ask a question first.
