Big Island Package Homes - Carolina Kid - 02-17-2011

Has anyone built one of the models from Big Island Package Homes? We're thinking about the 640 sq.ft one elevated 8 ft for parking underneath.

When I came here around 7 years ago, I looked at kit homes. I eventually designed my own home and hired a drafter to do the details. Talking with her, she pointed out that kit homes are notoriously over priced because you still have to hire a drafter, get it stamped by an architect and an engineer for the septic, etc. I don't know if that remains true today but I would definitely shop around as ericlp suggests.
