Any suggestions on where to buy a dish and receiver. I don't need a new account.

eBay. But if you don't need a new account, don't you already have a dish?

I believe I have a dish. I have no idea how it is connected, or if it is, but I am not using it.

'Yal with dishes, are you using Microcom (Hughes) for ISP? If so, what sort of results are you having with that in Puna? I've heard it works fine except when there is rain... which can be quite a bit of the time at some points in the year.

Is anyone located off the grid in Puna having a good experience with their ISP? If so then please do pass along the recommendation.

It would probably be useful to hear if there are any off-the-grid ISPs which would be particularly good to avoid, as well.

Thanks everyone, It ended up that getting the hardware from Dish was a fair enough deal with the Install, DVR, HD, promotions, etc.

bullwinkle:

The term you are looking for is IKS, the new boxes to look at are CNX and Nfusions. Good Luck!
