DiveHilo Scuba Club (and watersports galore) - pslamont - 12-28-2006
January 7th... 10 AM... Richardson's Beach Park... Be There or Be Square!
We will bring the BBQ; does anyone have an easy-up to bring? Everyone bring someting to grill or share t eat/drink, plus chairs and your favorite water toys.
Remember we love SCUBA but also promots all safe water activities (snorkel, boogie board, kayak, etc...).
We look forward to new people joining us as well as all our old friends. Let me know what you might wan to bring food wise so we can supplement appropriately.

I can hardly believe it is Scuba Club Day coming up again. I sure hope there are some Kayaks there this time. I was thinking it would be fun to try. Jim and Carey, are you coming on Sunday? Who else?????? Talk it up folks... after all this traditional holiday stuff, we need a Hawaiian Punatic Beach Party!

At the moment we have a 32' Sea Ray diveboat that will have the
capacity to
hold 6 divers when we open. We will be doing two tank dive tours for
$100
per diver in the Hilo area, and we will provide tanks and weights. We
also
will have PADI scuba certifications available and Intro dive tours.
Our family's company, Lobo Del Mar, is not interested in sponsoring any
dive
clubs here but we will be offering a local, (or kama'aina ) discount of
$90
per certified diver, and we would love to have you and your divers do
some
boat diving with us!

Took a snorkel trip with Lobo Del Mar yesterday in Hilo Bay. Friendly, helpful folks. Snorkeled in Puhi Bay with the turtles. But the water was SO COLD! And the waves choppy. No sightings of whales, which was disappointing, but it was kinda rough out there.
Anyhow, a good outfit with nice folks. They provided all equipment, though we had some of our own. Hope they succeed.

Royal,t he pop up is the most important thing. Bring your Kayak if you are so inclined. I know Chandal would love for someone to take her out on one. She is shy and won't ask, but I can get her out there!
Actually, the VERY most important thing is the smiling faces of all our wonderful punatic friends for a fun day at the beach. We are hoping against hope that this weather burns itself out by Sunday and we have a nice day.
