agreeing with your sentiment - racial slurs bother me too - I decided to consider the source and move on. The poster looking for a rise and trying to make an impact more than providing insight in my opinion.

I am in almost total disagreement with you. As far as The Lack's comment being racist or not, I took it in the manner in which it was intended and that is as a joke. Now, if The Lack had not defined his comment as a joke and left it up to your interpretation then I would agree with you. But this is not the case here. Do I think it is funny? A bit. Do I think it is racist, not when the intention is as a joke. Would I ever tell a joke like that? I would not. Not because I don't think it is funny. And not because I feel it is racist. I won't publicly say anything like this because there are people out there whose intentions are to bash and misinterpret what others say no matter what the intention is. If you ever took communications classes in college you will know that since The Lack explained what the intention of his comment was nothing more than a joke, you then have no other way of taking it other than a joke. That is unless you have an ulterior motive here which I believe you do. I believe you have such hatred in you because you hate guns and The Lack has such love of them that you cannot help but try and bash him for his comment which was nothing more than a joke. Because that is exactly what you say in your original post.
If you want to bash him for telling a bad joke I will support your right to do so. But to purposely take the intention that this was intended as and try to twist it to sound different than its intention is not right. And I believe you do not have the right to do so. This is not free speech, it is intentional bashing and a personal attack. And personally I believe this thread should be deleted due to the intentional twisting of the facts and the personal attack you have made here. JMHO

Didn't read the post before I read this one but found several comments about it and none where good, yes it is a bad joke but it is a joke which means you can laugh or go Ohh thats just bad, I lean towards Ohh thats just bad.

Thanks Mauka for calling this like it is, a racist slur(but really just a joke wink, wink...) I feel better knowing there are people here on Punaweb that are willing to speak up against stupidity.
I have been disturbed numerous times by numerous different posts from this individual(and others) who apparently "lack" any common sense before they start typing out every ignorant idea that floats into to their cognitively challenged brain.
These are exactly the people I fear the most, the gun owners that act out before thinking, I know at least one family that won't be buying Huli Huli Chicken.
My question to Lack and the rest who would support his rants is why live in Hawaii? Wouldn't Arizona be a better place for you to live.
By the way Lack, your cartoons aren't any funnier either.

Some things are just out of line, even when said in jest. To laugh at them indicates agreement with the sentiment. To quietly dismiss them or ignore them signals tacit approval of their appropriateness.

Well, I think the OP is off his rocker on this one. But that is to say regardless if his post was considered racist or not. There are much better ways to handle this then to make a open post about this.
You should apologize to everyone here and what you should have done was email rob directly with your complaint since he is the ONLY one that could do anything about it anyway.
