We continue here our discussion from a previous thread about mulching.
Mulch is a generic term for many different approaches to weed management, soil enrichment and landscaping using recycled "green waste" or other media

All mulches are not decaying matter. Green cover-like crops can like clover can benefit plants/trees by supplying nitrogen while holding moisture and keeping weeds at bay by acting as a ground cover. Here's an article on white clover:
