Fresh water fish - SandyS - 01-12-2011 We took our guests to the river today and one asked if there are fresh water fish in the river on the island? I have no idea if there are or not. RE: Fresh water fish - Alaskana - 01-12-2011 I'm curious to find out as well. I holy have my 15 lb spinning pole with me. RE: Fresh water fish - Carey - 01-13-2011 Yes, though most are introduced (including many aquarium fish let loose and some introduced game fish) there are some endemic & native fresh water fish that include the o'opu, the Freshwater gobies that spend their larval time in the ocean, and the Hawaiian flagtail & alamo'o Fishbase is one of my favorite search engines, the link for their list of freshwater fish in Hawaii is: http://www.fishbase.org/Country/CountryChecklist.php?c_code=840B&vhabitat=fresh&csub_code= |
