Anyone know of any special organized events happening on Monday Feb. 14th to celebrate Valentine's Day this year on the east side of the island?

We are going to the Mom's annual cookie party on the 13th. A group of the Honomu grannies/Mom's make valentines day cookies!
Many years ago my own mother kicked me out of the group because I took the broken cookie halves, mixed all my frosting together till I got grey, and put chocolate sprinkles on my "broken hearts"... [V] They said I was not in the spirit of things!

]So as a "newlywed", they are letting me back in their group this year! YAY!! [] Plus Robert is looking forward to all those frosted cookies!

On Feb. 12th there's a wine tasting/food pairing event called the 'Red Hot Wine Tasting' put on by the Women Who Wine Club at One Gallery in downtown Hilo. Call 987-3905 or check them out (at Women Who Wine Club) on Facebook.

Women Who Wine Club - gosh darn it another reason why I wish I was there. I am a firm believer of there's no such thing as a bad red wine.

Our Cooking Club is holding a Dinner Party based on Aphrodisiacs and Love Potions on the 13th and then on the 14th we are going to a private dinner party with a 7 course French Menu. I think you have to make your own fun here.
