Red choppers - wino - 03-29-2011 Does Green harvest fly and red choppers? Good god, just had one going around in HPP for the last 20 minutes or so. Went so low over the house I could have read the numbers on it, if it had numbers.... Headed north towards Hilo right over my house about 4:48 RE: Red choppers - csgray - 03-29-2011 You must be in our neck of the woods. My husband said they've been flying all day. Makes you real glad you make that 45 minute commute from Hilo every day for the peace and quiet of country living. When you can tell the pilot doesn't have his sun glasses on he's too close, nice military haircut too. We could clearly read MILITARY on top where the numbers would be. Too bad they can't spot the meth cooks we smell every once in a while, instead of chasing dope growers. Carol RE: Red choppers - Royall - 03-29-2011 I can here him down by the water towards Paradise now... I'm on Maku'u. Wish they would go home so we can have some piece and quite! Royall RE: Red choppers - Seeb - 03-29-2011 Fire Dept was looking for a lost person in lower HPP RE: Red choppers - csgray - 03-29-2011 Glad it was for a valid reason for a change. Although I don't exactly live in lower HPP and they were up here much of the day. My understanding is the person was elderly and lost from 6th and Kaloli, upper Maku'u is a pretty far hike for such a person. It seems like notifying residents to look for lost people on their roads would be more efficient than helicopters. All the people on the Civil Defense notification system in HPP would be better able to spot a lost person in their yard or neighborhood than the helicopters ever could. We have a lot of very high canopied albizia on our street interspersed with landscaped yards, I don't see how they could reasonably expect to spot a person from flying overhead, but the neighborhood dogs would sure let everyone know if anyone was walking around our road. If people knew someone was missing we could look out for them. Carol RE: Red choppers - PaulW - 03-29-2011 Yes, it's always Green Harvest by default. Sorry the search for a missing person inconvenienced you. RE: Red choppers - jdirgo - 03-29-2011 LOL, PaulW. csgray and her BF/spousal are not the kind to scream "Green Harvest" for no reason. Like so many, they obey all the laws, do what they can to help out in the community, and generally try to be a positive force. If they see random unexplained aircraft, I think they have a right to bring it up. And that's all they did. Also sorry it upset you. I'll not post further. Do you want me to have it removed also? RE: Red choppers - LeeE - 03-30-2011 Wino, Keep posting. Your civility is true to Punaweb form. After all the noise and intrusion our communities suffered under the drug warriors, cash for flying hours program, you have every right to ask. Welcome to Punaweb! Aloha, Lee http://members.cruzio.com/~lionel/event RE: Red choppers - Kapohocat - 03-30-2011 The red helicopter was delivered in June 2010 for the COH fire Department. http://www.asdnews.com/news/29460/MD_Helicopters_Delivers_New_MD_500E_to_Hawaii_County_Fire_Department_.htm |
