Who Has the Best News and Weather Coverage - PunaPaula - 01-31-2007 Aloha, I was wondering if anyone had an opinion about what TV station has the best news and weather coverage for the BI, Hilo side of course? So far I haven't found much except Honolulu news with an occational mention if something major happens here. Any thoughts? Mahalo, Paula RE: Who Has the Best News and Weather Coverage - Rob Tucker - 01-31-2007 I find the best, current weather info at the Weather Underground web site: http://www.wunderground.com/ Dial in your zip code and check out the doppler radar. RE: Who Has the Best News and Weather Coverage - jerry - 01-31-2007 I feel that living in Hawaii makes you barely part of the United States (which has it good aspects) while living in Puna makes you barely part of Hawaii, at least as far as the TV news is concerned. The news and weather is Honolulu. Guy Hagi (channel 9) usually stands in front of the part of the map that includes Hilo. Their radar usually shows it as clear when you can look out and see the rain. If an important event (say a murder) happens they may send a reporter to the airport (in Honolulu) to make us think they did some actual reporting. If you want news, try Google. If you want weather try wunderground.com. Kill your television. It seems that I heard about a local station in Hilo starting up...did that every happen? Mahalo for the link to the underground weather. That's just what I wanted. What's the weather like where you are right now? Kapoho? RE: Who Has the Best News and Weather Coverage - oink - 02-08-2007 Strange, Wunderground reporting from Volcano G&CC reports overcast. The webcam from the 9th Tee at Volcano G&CC shows clear sky. There must be some severe microweather going on there. S. FL Islander to be |
