In order to do so, we must maintain an alcohol-, tobacco-, drug-, and animal-free Lot, with controlled access and scheduled activities. The Board of the Community Development Hui of Fern Forest, which manages the Lot for Fern Forest landowners who jointly own it, promulgates Hui policies and relevant County ordinances supporting safe and lawful behavior. Now that these policies and ordinances are being strictly enforced, we are asking for volunteers to assist with specific activities and/or donate or raise funds to · Rebuild, refurbish and improve existing buildings and/or · Develop programs for keiki, youth, seniors, and families. Projects 2011-2012 Volunteer/Donor Clear and maintain upper Lot and lower field 1. Organize supervised play for children, youth 2. Organize a periodic Fern Forest Exchange & Market for materials for that day only Improve and maintain Quonset Building 1. Construct attractive interior spaces for educational activities and social activities for children, youth, seniors, and families 2. Provide before- and after-school activities, such as helping children with homework 3. Internet access limited to educational programs, GED preparation 4. Peer support groups: recovery, teen parents, etc 5. Early Response and emergency preparedness programs 6. “Neighborhood Watch/Caring Neighbors” Street Teams 7. Rent QB for family or community events (birthdays, weddings, holidays) complying with policies, ordinances 8. Organize healthy recreational opportunities Rebuild and maintain the metal Pavilion, with concrete floor, 4 walls, windows, & doors Build and maintain a 2-stall stand-alone bathroom with flush toilet, urinal and sinks Refurbish and maintain basketball court & hoop Aloha, Marty |
