Power Out - macuu222 - 07-02-2011 Power has been out in lower HPP since 3:00am. Anyone else with power out? RE: Power Out - macuu222 - 07-02-2011 Back on now at 5:30. RE: Power Out - hawaiideborah - 07-02-2011 never went out in my section of lower HPP, so not all of lower HPP effected. They came through our road last year and didn't even cut all the branches that were close to the power lines. Some of those are now actually in contact with the lines or poles, which can't be good. If we ever get a really big storm, there will probably be big problems that last a long time. Glad we have a generator and lots of hurricane lamps! RE: Power Out - DTisme - 07-03-2011 Thanks for the tip about hawaii247.com - i've been here 2 years and never knew about the site. very handy. RE: Power Out - OrchidIslander - 07-05-2011 I wish there were more onus on hpp lot owners to take care of trees - mostly Albizia - on mostly vacant lots. Hpp seems to have no mechanism to notify and compel absent landowners to take action regarding trees originating on their property. The mid portion of Maku'u, in particular, is a major problem in the making with huge Albizia trees with branches overhanging power lines. There are other areas of concern as well. I do not currently have a generator, but it is on the save-up-for list. |
