Where to buy a used shipping container? - terracore - 07-16-2011 Hello, I want to buy and get delivered a used shipping container to our property near Volcano. Probably a 20 footer. Any recommended companies to work with? Cheers, Steve RE: Where to buy a used shipping container? - terracore - 07-19-2011 Any recommended companies not to work with? RE: Where to buy a used shipping container? - MarkP - 07-19-2011 I used affordable portable housing. They seemed OK although others seemed to have issues with them. There is also Container Storage Company of Hawaii. RE: Where to buy a used shipping container? - hrooster - 07-20-2011 There was a recent posting for one on Craig's List. If you are using it to transport goods, it MUST have a seaworthy certificate. This is a paper, filled out by a Marine Surveyor, certifying that your ‘tainer is water and airtight, and it has an expiration date. Make sure that the date gives you enough time to move it..... http://the-hroost.com RE: Where to buy a used shipping container? - aaaalohainsurance - 07-21-2011 A few years ago we bought 3 40 ft containers from Alan Yoza they cost from $3800 - $4800 Amber Amber Lopez AAA Aloha Insurance Agency 808-966-5000 RE: Where to buy a used shipping container? - SBH - 07-24-2011 I bought mine from Affordable Portable Housing: http://www.affordableportablehousing.com/ RE: Where to buy a used shipping container? - terracore - 07-25-2011 Do you remember (ballpark) what affordableportablehousing charged for a delivered container? Did anybody get one of their "container offices" or was it a regular container. RE: Where to buy a used shipping container? - tada - 07-25-2011 Last time I checked affordableportable lists prices on the site. plus you have to call the trucking company to transport from the dock or yard which added $500 for me so might be more now. I bought a box from Hawaii modular space the established player with the ubiquitous blue &white signs. You have to call them- they don't list prices. What does that say? I wouldn't pay more than what the modular space rep quotes you.I think everybody else prices off them. |
