COH in Seattle? - Alex - 07-30-2011 The envelope I got with my property tax bill has PO Box in Seattle, WA address. What's up with that? RE: COH in Seattle? - Wao nahele wahine - 07-30-2011 I remember calling them about the Seattle address last year. It's the correct address, but seems very odd to me. I don't remember them giving me an explanation as to why the property tax bills are sent to Seattle. WahineRE: COH in Seattle? - Alex - 07-30-2011 Easier to collect late fees?[] RE: COH in Seattle? - Bullwinkle - 07-30-2011 needs to get completed on time and correctly - so the county outsourced it - grin RE: COH in Seattle? - Alex - 07-30-2011 Do they have to spend extra money to process payments in the other state? RE: COH in Seattle? - dwedeking - 07-30-2011 In the short term it's probably cheaper as the people in Seattle have better connections to offshore labor in a foreign country. Long term it would be cheaper to employ a local person, keeping that money on the island in the local economy (but I'm not as smart as the politicians and bureaucrats so don't listen to me). RE: COH in Seattle? - james weatherford - 07-30-2011 "cheap"? RE: COH in Seattle? - laniA - 07-30-2011 quote:Are you saying Seattle is a" middleman" and sends our payments to a foreign country to be processed? RE: COH in Seattle? - dwedeking - 07-30-2011 laniA I would guess that would be the case as that is the most common business model. Either way it's taking money off the island which is the main point. RE: COH in Seattle? - PaulW - 07-30-2011 "Do they have to spend extra money to process payments in the other state?" My guess would be that they have to spend extra money to process payments in this state. Good to see the county doing cost-cutting. |
