Mahi Mahi getting scarce - Rob Tucker - 08-17-2011

From the Trib:

Mahi-mahi, where art thou?

This is generally why I stopped eating/buying seafood about ten years ago. I don't think I am putting fishermen our of business... I they they are going to be putting themselves out of business all on their own.

Here's another interesting article citing a study on the effect of humans on coral:

I can vouch for having problems in SoFla getting legal sized keepers, just a bunch of peanuts for the last 6-7 years... 20 years ago, before New York invaded there were big healthy 40 lb bulls regularly...

2x too many humans for the planet to support.
This is one of the indications.
If you don't like the observation, tough.
Reality bites no matter if you like it or not.

I have to agree, Punaticbychoice, people have become too populous to keep up living the lifestyles we choose. How far back was that book, the Population Bomb? 1970? I think we will not solve our environmental problems without deciding we need less people, too.

Life goes on, with you or without you.

Yesterday when I ordered fish from Suisan for the Kalani kitchen, all they had for us was mahi-mahi.
