I noticed someone on the website asked where to get silkies. Pahoa farm and feed had them, frizzles and leghorns too.

I got some silkies for Valentine's day. Red boxer shorts with hearts. Think he got them at Macy's. What I want to know is where you get those ducks that eat centipedes.

Does Pahoa Farm & Feed usually have chicks? Do they ever get in goslings?

They usually carry rode island reds,barred rocks and aracaunas. You can ask them to order whatever you want and they just add them to there next order. You have to talk to the lady that orders though the guys don't know much.

I know I've said this before, but the best all around bird, IMHO, is the Barred Rock. Great disposition, not overly aggressive, light on the scratching (Aracaunas will scratch until they've dug a pit!) and nice large brown eggs.

Speaking of, does anyone know why there are so many chickens loose on Kauai, but so few loose on the Big Island? Is it because the mongooses attack them here? (No mongooses on Kauai they say).

The people on Kaua`i love chickens and they take pride in the fact that there are no mongeese on the island.
