Sat morning right after the high tide, when the pond is usually cool, it was unusually warm. Very warm springs coming in from sides. Anyone else notice this? Maybe new lava activity??

So many variables go into water temperature there. high tide (how high), low tide (how low), wave size, whether it rained the night before, etc. When the waves were really high about a week ago, the water was chilly, well, chilly for the warm pond. A lady I met at Ahalanui (who lives in Kapoho) said it's always warm when it didn't rain the night before.
No idea if there's any direct connection to lava activity.

I would think it's not the temp of the whole pond that you want to check. It's the freshwater coming in from underground that is geothermally heated.
Go feel the water right when it enters the pond. If the heat of that water gets substantially and abnormally hotter, then it seems reasonable to wonder whether magma movement may have increased the geothermal effect.
