just wanted to put in a "heads up" for rudy's by the hilo zoo. i knew they had great tarps but they also have greenhouse and other insect screens, will cut them to size and their customer service was just great compared to the slim other choice you have. it was also less money if you are covering a large area, can add up quickly..[

Rudy's does the coverings, Greenhouse Specialists are for the structures. Rudy's used to be located across the parking lot at GH Specialists.

Went to GHS looking for a small greenhouse for my wife. Something in the order of a 8X10 that we could incorporate onto a concrete pad. They didn't have anything that small. Actually I wasn't impressed at all with the place. Their "showroom greenhouse" is falling apart and they don't install what they sell....they just order it from the mainland and takes about 2 months to arrive once you place the order. I could do that on-line myself but I wanted something "in-stock". Does anyone know if maybe Home Depot or maybe Lowes over in Kona sell greenhouse kits?

Sorry Macuu, I didn't realize you were looking for something small. If you can't find it locally, check out Charley's greenhouse. We also have a customer in Santa Barbara that just got a small greenhouse he's quite pleased with, and I could query him for you. We have only bought large greenhouses from GHS, and have been happy with their service. They have even come out and shown us how to put one of them together when the directions from Conley were not so great.

punaweb's own "joeframer" (joe clark) just built me a wonderful greenhouse, exactly what i wanted, with raised planting beds etc. bet when you figure in shipping costs you wont find anything cheaper or nicer on island...

If you want something so small, just buy a small canopy frame from Amazon for 50 bucks 10 x 10 or 10 x 8 and then go to Rudy and buy his plastic and netting and just stretch and zip tie the whole thing together. i have one of those on my land and it works really well. just secure the canopy so it doesn't fly away in the wind with some heavy cement blocks and rope.
