Thunder?

All morning I've been hearing distant loud booms that sound like lots of thunder down in Puna makai. Seems to be coming from mauka - to the west. Anybody else hear it or see a big storm?

I heard it off an on yesterday (Friday 1/25). Sounded like giants stomping around in the distance. A little unsettling. I live in Keaau and couldn't tell what direction it was coming from.

I have heard it today all the way in Seaview. It does not sound like thunder. It sounds to me like large explosions. Pohakuloa, maybe? Or do they use blasting at any of the quarries?

I heard some booming yesterday around 12pm while I was out in my front yard in OrchidLand. Didn't sound like thunder, it shook the ground and made a booming sound but sounded far off. Maybe explosions?

we were hiking up at volcano park and we heard the booms over and over, i said dynamite? very loud, went on for some time. that is quite a huge area from seaview to past volcano to be hearing the same thing...
