Aloha,

We built a home in Kula (2006) using HH, BUT, in retrospect, it would have been CHEAPER to just go with a 'stick-built'. YES, it takes less time, BUT, in the final analysis, a custom (albeit simple) home actually penciled out CHEAPER than HH packages ~ ~ ~

They ARE a GREAT source of Lumber and Building supplies and will do a free estimate for you though they do NOT guarantee the materials list to be complete and hence NOT the best budgeting tool ~ ~ ~

Aloha

My personal BEST is Argus Lumber.
They have by far the best house plans at lowest cost.
We recently bought a 4 bedroom pre approved Argus kit for 30K cash.
Their delivery costs are best on island.
They can also design to your own custom plans and get approved by county.
I always shop locally and compare all prices. For more bang for my buck,i will always shop Argus .
They are one of the very few mom n pop lumber outlets on island. They even deliver Kona side and Kamuela and HOVE.
Friendly and will take the extra time with you on a very personal one on one level down to the last minute detail.
Every person in this forum should at least stop in and see what they offer. They have excellent selection of cedar .
