Be nice to HELCO
#1
I havent been here that long, but based on what I was told about HELCO, they have done a great job so far considering circumstances.

It is absolutely disgusting and offensive, that these guys who are out day and night trying to fix the issue, are being threatened and need national guard and security escorts, just so they can do their jobs.

Unbelievable that they have been threatened with guns and violence, and in my opinion, completely unacceptable in any situation.

Ive heard of people thinking "their: power should be turned back on before any one elses, and had to be scared off with a chainsaw by a local.

It is disgusting.

Please be nice to your HELCO workers, see if hey would like some water or juice, they are doing the best they can do!

I agree. I tell the guys I see working when I can: "Thanks for the hard work!" Most of the workers I've seen are hard working and decent people. Our support will make their job that much easier.

Has this really happened or is it just another rumor?

Paul, it is real. Chainsaws have been taken. crews have been challenged...

There are a very few that are only "helping themselves" right now, but for the most part, most everyone is trying to "help others"

Just got my power back on in Hawaiian Beaches, North Puni Mauka Loop, thanks HELCO. It was memorable watching the crews work. Reminded me of when my father worked for HELCO for over 42 years.

Just got my power back today. Helco arrived with an army. They were very nice and courteous, and I'm sure they're under a lot of pressure. Good job. I was impressed.
