Jimi Hendrix - Documentary - Live on Maui
#1
Music, Money, Madness… Jimi Hendrix In Maui

Jimi’s Rainbow Bridge concert at the Rice Arena in Makawao.  An intergalactic event, even spaceships were invited, all live from the side of a volcano.  This was his second last concert, and the last one filmed.  Recognize anyone?

A new documentary about Jimi Hendrix will delve into the making of the star’s Rainbow Bridge film and his 1970 show in Hawaii.  The late rock icon performed at the foot of the Haleakala volcano in Maui, with footage of the gig featured in the film.

The documentary, which will be released on November 20, will include interviews from people involved with Rainbow Bridge and present at the Maui show, as well as previously unseen archival footage.

It’s not often you see a horse & rider galloping behind the stage of a rock concert.

Thanks for that, HOTPE. For whatever reason I've never been a fan of Hendrix despite his amazing guitar playing but reallyenjoyed that video. It made me think os some music I'm playing right now because it came from the same era - Pink Floyd's Summer of 68 and Van Morrison's Madame George. Sadly, from memory, I don't think either of them visited Hawaii.

And a song I always played when I used to visit Pam. George Benson's version of California Dreamin'.

As well as Miracles by Jefferson Starship. It was her favorite song.

I've been listening to a lot of music these days...

I saw Hendrix live at the Seattle Center Coliseum in 1968. I was in 8th grade. One of my friend's mom dropped us off at the show, and picked us up after.  Vanilla Fudge, Soft Machine, and Wire Apparent also played.

I saw Hendrix at his last large concert at the Isle of Wight just a month before he died. I thought it was his last concert but didn't know about his appearance s or two at small clubs in London where I was living at the time. I was standing outside the hospital, by coincidence, when they brought his body in... had to ask what the crowd gathering there was about.
Assume the best and ask questions.
