I and mine have gone to the Urgent Care clinic in the old Malama plaza several times over the last couple years and have always been seen expeditiously. My mainland sister was even seen there promptly when she injured herself badly on the 'a'ā along the Red Road (tripped and fell while being a tourist and taking pictures...she saved her camera but really messed herself up for her remaining visit here; happened the second day!) She was a mess! (Sorry, sis, not laughing).
Anyways... Also have been going to Bay Clinic (now HICHC) next to Black Rock for a number of years and have gotten quality care. Was called several months ago about making appts for annual physicals; will be going next week. They are proactive, even if scheduling was several months in advance.

Ms Ferrett, back in the day, the tour companies would park at the last possible point and take groups of tourists tracking over the a'a to see the lava and the shredded hamburger knees were happening on the daily. I feel bad for your Sis, mainly because it ate up her precious adventure time.
We are Blessed, for folks who choose to live so remotely, to have the level of services that we enjoy, in my humble, personal opinion.
