#1
Any suggestions on companies that supply Galv Steel House Framing / Roof Joists & Roofing. Hoping that they can use my plans to pre-cut everything. Local Co. or one that ships to Hilo.
Thanx

Also found Omega Allsteel in Kona - http://www.omegaallsteel.com/
I Have called about 10 times, and only get a phone ringing with no voicemail, I emailed them from the website and it bounced back. Possibly because my number is not an 808 number they dont pick up.. woulda been nice if they did

Light gage steel is produced on Oahu by Deitrich. They are a wholesale outfit so you would have to place your order through someone else like Home Depot or Honsador.

They do not do material lists. You would have to make your own lists.
Assume the best and ask questions.

Thanx 4 the replies, really appreciate them.
Any suggestions on Architect / Engineer for a steel stud structure?
I need to narrow down cost comparisons for a couple of different construction styles.

Aloha,

Rob pegged it. I've used Dietrich before, as well (on Maui), and though pricey (what isn't?) they do supply steel framing members. DO YOUR homework as far as a materials list go, because there's a boatload of intrinsic parts and pieces and such that go beyond just studs, sills, and plates and when you go to order, you will get EXACTLY what you order and NOTHING more which can be a HUGE inconvenience if you're on any kind of a time frame/schedule. I suggest Googling 'steel stud framing drawings', or the like, studying them well BEFORE you begin putting a Materials List together. And when estimating your materials list, ALWAYS add 15% ~ ~ ~ Aloha ~

I work with a wholesale supplier of Dietrich materials on the mainland who has experience with setting up the shipping to the BIg Island. He can take my designs which I also engineer and do a materials package. The structure is preassembled at a factory on the mainland, taken apart, labeled with reassembly directions. Since this is a wholesaler the price is competitive, and it is the simplest to build custom steel frame structure available. We came up with this process after doing a house in Keaau, and now I have a custom home in Kona that is being done that way which will start this summer. I will answer my phone if you call me.
