Nanawale sqft home requirements
#1
Fellow members,
Is Nanawale relaxed about it's 880 min. sqft home size requirements? If a person submits plans and everything is on the up and up with regard to permits, do they generally approve of a kit home lets say in the 500 - 600 sqft range or even smaller? I have heard of other subdivisions asking potential home builders to even get a sign off from their neighbors if it is under min. size requirements.

So is Nanavale easy to work with on this subject?

Mahalo, in advance for the advice.

OK, I received an e-mail from the association itself.

I goes as follows:

Thank you for your e-mail. The required building structure will need to be at least 880 sq ft and permitted by the County of Hawaii as stated in the Nanawale Community Association CC&R building restrictions. Any home or structure not in compliance is subject to monthly fines and may result in placement of a lien on the property. Please visit our website at nanawale.com for association By-laws, CC&R's and other pertinent information that you will be able to download and print.

Mahalo

Bottom line = no house smaller than the required 880 sqft. That is too bad because I would have liked owning a lot in Nanawale. The lots are very small and you must put a rather large home on it. So, I will not be buying property in Nanawale subdivision................I hope this helps others that were curious about the same subject as I.

Aloha,

It would be better if you stop in, in person and ask the same question. Maybe even have the plan with you. Explain that you will be building fully permitted and not some sort of shack.
