Have you considered doing it yourself Susan? It's not that hard.. We are not professionals, but we learned how to cut and lay the tiles for the bathroom floor, walls and kitchen counters. It looks great, has held up well, and the price was right.

If you do it yourself, start with the walls. Doing the walls first ensure no tile mastic gets in your new grout lines on the floor area. Use shims and spacers where needed to get first course started and level, pre plan where cut line will be. If in corner, you won't have to worry much about a rough edge, as it will be covered by tile on adjoining wall. If you have a rough edge after cutting, use a tile rasp, or file to soften the edge, or in a pinch, a new sharpening stone. If still nervous, you could use "guidelines" or "checkpoints" marked with pencil or chalk line to keep tiles aligned vertically and horizontally.
Buy a high quality mastic, follow directions on trowel notch size and mixing proportions,( an electric drill, mixing beater and a five gallon bucket, be sure to get inside edge at bottom mixed!), mix to consistency of peanut butter, and start the fun!

Thanks everyone! Kenney I don't think I can pull this off. I bought 12x24 tile for the shower walls. It's super thick and heavy. I need a pro. The bathroom floor may be more my speed. Tink you are a good source of info. Are you sure I can't talk you into a job?

Our contractor friend brought the tile cutter and showed us how to install the tile. My daughter did all the work while I tried to stay out of the way.
She sent me off to Maui for a few days so she could work in peace. It worked for both of us,
I hope you find the help you need.
