Queen K widening phase 2 cost 24.6 million a mile
Pretty much my point -- almost $5K per foot, seems just a tad on the high side.

You are comparing apples and oranges. The overall Saddle Road project cost 316.5 million dollars over the life of the project, and is 9 times longer than the Queen Kaahumanu Highway widening project. As I stated before, the state of Hawaii receives roughly 160 million dollars in Federal highway funds each fiscal year to do projects statewide, so this is why the Saddle Road project was phased.

No, I'm pretty sure these projects are way more expensive than necessary.
Call it what you will.
