Five women arrived in Puna last summer from The University of Cambridge and U of Leeds to help USGS with monitoring aerosols, something they were missing in their day to day surveys of the lava flow. Their aerosol research will be compiled and analyzed so we have a better idea of how air quality was affected in Puna over the course of the eruption, something that hopefully may help all of us in the future.
