As coordinator for the Land Use WG I have taken a path for our group which has been:
1. Oct./Nov. in researching, reading & discussing the issues.
2. Dec. was intended to begin drafts of recommendations and begin to connect the dots with other WG (not too successful there yet).
This is mostly proceeding well though we regret the attrition in participation which increases the burden on those true souls devoted to completion of the task.
At the December 30th large group meeting at Olaa Center I am intending that the first hour be spent in reports from our sub groups which can include some Q&A.
I intend to then have 30-60 minutes of undocumented discussion. Bubble and Buzz might describe it. I think everyone needs unstructured time to mingle and cross over in the thinking.
I have invited members of two other WGs to join us. AG and Natural Resources. I have also contacted County Planning seeking data on the county enforcement history.
There is a grassroots effort to have a special "open house" for the working group members to share there work product. The county will not participate in this. I would like to hear directly from anyone thinking is or is nothing something they want to participate in.
At the meeting I will be suggesting that for the remaining two months of our effort that we begin to turn away from the sub group efforts and turn toward operating as a whole group and bring together the thinking of Village Centers & Design Districts, Growth Management, Sustainable Land Air & Water and perhaps even Biosphere Reserve if Rick is attending.
Lastly I now ask you to contact me if you feel that additions should be made to our Dec. 30th agenda.

Assume the best and ask questions.
