Nanawale Estates
#1
Is Nanawale Estates a great place to raise children?

We have a daughter, 15, and a son, 3 (4 on March 19th).

I recommend that you talk to Liz at the community association (808-965-8080) since I don't have children myself.

There are alot of kids in Nanawale. The division has parks a good association and bus service. It is as good as any area to raise kids. There are some trouble makers there, but there are good and bad no matter where you live. You seem to have eliminated one division after another for different reasons without really checking them out for yourself. The best way to find out about any area is to rent for awile and investigate all the divisions and diferent districts before you buy. Divisions are changing and by the time you do move what was good could be bad and visa-versa. Things are alot different over here with a wide variety of cultures and values. What might be normal here might not cut it in Nevada. Most kids here are really cherrished and have whole families helping raise them.

I am sure there are good and bad kids in Nanawale but most of the kids are going to lean towards bad. Nanwale is changing for the better. It is a far cry from the first time I drove through it 9 years ago. However, most of the people moving in and making improvements do not have children. I think you mentioned on other forums you were not interested in Pahoa High School and Nanawale is in this district. It is really too far too drive your kids into Hilo for school every day.

Thank you, everyone, on your take on Nanawale Estates.

Good to hear that Nanawale is getting better and may more people with children move there, too, in the near future.

Love hearing about how people improve neigborhoods.

We will be checking out more areas for ourselves as soon as we get to Hawaii.

Sincerely,
