When you are the new neighbor at the BBQ, do you start badgering the host about their house rules and enforcement thereof?
I think the distinction is pretty clear between something a Hawaii figure is doing, and starting to bring up other national figures and issues. I also expect that long time members of Rob's forum get a little more leeway than newcomers.

Not at all but if the rules are unclear, I would certainly want to make sure I understood them before I get too far into the house!

That is exactly the point I was making.
There is no possibility to have a conversation with a talented and well armed debater like HOTPE, when the rules are not evenly applied. If PW long timers all know what you expect to be true, then don't you think it is cynical and lacking in character to engage newcomers in debate like so many of you do? You know it's rigged. Where is the honor in that?
The net effect of the random and nepotic application of "rules", which you indicate that you expect, seems to be that any newcomers, who might bring a fresh perspective, are quickly discouraged and move on. One might even surmise that the net effect is also the desired effect and an echo chamber/bubble is the goal. That is certainly an understandable goal but decency and empathy would prescribe that you make that detail clear up front. This would have the added benefit that "badgering", to learn the real rules, would be eliminated.
Either way, you've made me hungry!

Anyone who starts their own forum is entitled to set and enforce the rules as they see fit.
It is, however, a thankless job.

So correct me if I misunderstand, but you are calling Rob "entitled" now? Chill out man.
