Trees absorb and store carbon which provides cooling. Over the last 2,000 years people chopped down more than 50% of forests in the world.

Its like cutting the radiator in your car in half.

It will run hotter.

If circumstances deteriorate enough, the tourism industry in hawaii could trickle to a close.

What would life be like if that happened.
There has not been a sharp decline in air travel recently.   When was the last time you were on a commerical flight?  Covid has caused a pent up demand for travel so people have been willing to pay the higher costs.

With regards to tourism "closing", it's not an all or nothing proposition.  A decline is certainly possible in the long term.  More likely is a decline in the price of fuel in the near term and a return to normalcy, more or less.

I want to make a bet the price of gas won't decline anytime soon.

AKA free money.

The price of gas has fallen every day for the last month.  It's not as noticable in Hawaii because it's fallen less here than in other states.  Unlike when it went up.:

You can always count on Hawaii to be the first to raise fuel prices and the last to lower them.
