Sharks sighted in ocean shock

Apparently, there was a thread here about a shark sighting in the ocean near some beaches. There was a discussion about whether this was news or information, but it doesn't matter now that the thread has been deleted. It clearly wasn't important news. Unfortunately, I never got an answer to my question about how getting out more would have helped, and Kalianna deleted the thread instead.

What species, or at least order, of shark was it?

From memory, the linked article in the deleted thread simply said it was a shark.
