Aloha Friends,
It is time to begin planning for our 2012 FREE School Supplies Distribution. Our next planning meeting is Wednesday 8/17/11, at 2:30 pm. This first meeting will be short and will be followed by our Puna Roundtable Meeting from 3 pm to 4:30pm. We will me meeting at the Neighborhood Place of Puna office in Mt. View, just 1.7 miles up N. Kulani.
The 2011 School Supply Distribution was a great success, with us distributing school supplies to over 1800 school aged children. Unfortunately, we can only expect these numbers to rise, given the poor economy and the continued population growth in Puna.
This year we are trying to expand our coalition. We need to see a few fresh faces and bring a some new groups to the table. So, If you, or your group, are interested in helping plan for the 2012 School Supplies Distribution, then please join us on Wednesday or give me a call.
