Saddle Road Update
#1
The HTH published an update on the Saddle Road project. It was accurate for the most part- except a couple technical aspects:

http://hawaiitribune-herald.com/sections...rolls.html

1. The bids for the Saddle Road project are not confidential. The information is publicly available on the CFLHD website. There were four
bidders; Road and Highway Builders, Nan, Isemoto, and Goodfellow Brothers.

2. The CFLHD allocated 33.5 million dollars for this phase. Only Goodfellow's bid came in under that amount (33.2 million dollars). The other bidders came in at 39.6, 39.9 and 47.6 million approximately.

3. HDOT has instructed the State Attorney General to start condemnation proceedings against the three outstanding landowners whose land is needed for the last Hilo side segment of Saddle Road

4. Kirkland Construction is 92% complete with the 6(6) phase with 55% of the contracted time elapsed.

5. Goodfellow Brothers will be awarded the Saddle Road 6(7) phase. HDOT hasn't received any bid protests from any of the losing bidders.

What no protests? They must be sleeping or no money in it for them to protest.
