Non Ethanol Gas
#11
Ethanol sucks, its a waste of our good food, even if it is GMO corn.

[Big Grin]Obie, I was planning a trip to Mountain View or wherever that gas station is that has ethanol-free gas. You saved me bucks with this information! I'm only a mile from Pauls. Thank you [Big Grin]

Yes: ethanol consumes a third of the domestic corn supply, which increases feed prices for cattle farmers. This is one reason that so many dairies are failing in CA.

Also: simple research shows that ethanol is "worse than useless". Track the mileage from a full tank each of "real gas" and ethanol blend. For the tank of ethanol, calculate the mileage with and without the ethanol (that is, take the ethanol out of the equation by reducing the gallons by 10%), and you'll find that the mileage is still worse than straight gas.

Ethanol isn't an "energy policy", it's just another "gift to the wealthy".

@Obie, my thanks! Read your post this morning and got my ethanol free gas at Paul's this afternoon. I won't miss driving from HPP to Mt View anymore. Thanks again.....
