Buying a single stamp waiting in line at nearly every post office is a hassle. I got two Express Mail refunds (one for almost $200.00) by waiting in that line. Yes, they were a hassle, but not much more hassle for a $200 refund than what it takes to buy a single "Forever" stamp.
The counter-clerk positions at the USPS are the most coveted by the employees (way better than stomping through "storm nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night..." and guaranteed by union contract to be awarded through longevity... regardless of performance, discipline problems, or customer service abilities.
Unfortunately, the "hassle" level has nothing to do with any sort of business acumen, only years of service of the people behind the counter.
Been there, and understood. I never complain about waiting in line. It is what it is. ... It IS a hassle however to spend At LEAST 10 minutes at the counter while the postal worker must go back and use a SHARED computer ( Hilo Airport ) to look up ones info, print it out, comeback to finish filling out a form by hand that you have already started for them. Triple check everything, type in some more stuff, print out a Money Order, fill it out, stick it back in again and finally refund in cash.
THAT needs to be streamlined everyone's sake. And that's no stamp.
But that is not what I was talking about.
Schedule ONLINE Express Mail, cancel it and see what happens ...

Thank you! Had sample, quite tasty! I have just discovered how simple it is to bake bread in my bread maker (if I had known this, would have got one years ago)! The honey on fresh warm bread is wonderful!
Very nice to have met you today. If your friend is intered in selling strawberry slips in the future, please keep us in mind. Not quite to the point of starting them, but we do want to but some out for personal consumption.
Aloha!
Best wishes

Royall,
My husband sings the praises of your honey each time he has it! Thought you would appreciate that information. I use it in my tea, on toast, and in cooking. I love the mind taste. Some honey can have strong overtones, but this is perfect! Thanks again!
