I won't be in a position to check first hand until after Sunday, but they also have repeaters on the Saddle (Channel 19, Virtual 10.1/10.2) and at Kulani Cone (near Volcano/Glenwood, Channel 41, Virtual 10.1/10.2).
That info will only help if it's not the whole network that's down. From what I've read on the FCC's web site, Channel 19 feeds the others, so if 19 is down, they all might be down.

10-1 and 10-2 is back. Had to re-scan the channels and then it showed up.

I rescanned and did pick up the 10-* channels again, but the signal quality is so poor they are unwatchable. This evening I received the following from PBS (good on them for replying):
"Yes, PBS Hawaii is currently off the air for over-the-air viewers from Hilo to South Point. Our Engineers had determined that the problem stems from a malfunctioning part within the Hilo translator. The part has been sent to the manufacturer for repair and we estimate that we will be back on air sometime next week.
We encourage all our viewers to call us as soon as they experience a problem. Please call 808-973-1000 during regular business hours, or 808-566-5042 any time after 5:00 p.m. and we will be happy to assist you."

It sounds like the 10's that you are getting are from the Saddle transmitter. That transmitter is directional towards Hilo, with only some side lobes hitting the lower elevations of Puna.

From the data I've previously seen and the email you just shared, it seems that Saddle feeds Hilo, which feeds Kulani Cone, which feeds South Point (with the breakdown being at Hilo).
If you have an antenna that can be rotated, pointing it just south or west of Mauna Kea would probably give you the best chance at 10.1 until it's repaired.

Can any of you tell me where is covered by the channel 10 translator for KMC? Does it reach into upper Puna or not so much?

KMC = Kilauea Military Camp? Sorry, can't help with your question, but the acronym might not be familiar to everyone, it wasn't for me.

The antenna for Kilauea Military Camp (at Kulani Cone) is pointed towards Pahala, but there is some signal that comes through for Volcano, Glenwood and Mountain View. I can get it in Mountain View, but I hafta point that antenna that way. Here's a map:

Sorry TomK, thought that was a common acronym for Kilauea Military Camp. Looking at moving to Volcano area and wanted to know if there was going to be any OTA at all. Coverage maps give an idea, but aren't great at showing the effect of local topography.
Why the heck it that translator oriented towards Pahala instead of upper Puna? Is it to hopscotch the signal to Naalehu and S. Point?
