Trying to find a one day rental car rate from Hilo to Kona that doesn't charge a drop off fee. Lowest I can find is $84.00 a day.

Don't know your dates, which might make a difference, but try Costco.

Costco is in Kona. Need to rent a car from Hilo.

Try Enterprise in Hilo, down the street from Makaala. They do one way plus it probably is no big deal for them, the car gets to the side it needs to be. They also do free pickup but don't know if that extends to Puna. The crap Hyundais are pretty cheap. Very professional office, quick, courteous.

Your right. I would have never known. They use Alamo and the rate is $59.00 all charges and dropoff included. Unfortunately I stopped going to Costco years ago and let my membership lapse.

Interesting, I didn't even know Costco had that. I used to use Alamo all the time but their website hasn't worked in ages so I haven't rented from them in a couple of years.
