Looking for "box rail" (not "decorative") from a retailer who actually has the parts in stock for sale on island.
Web searches only find items which "will not ship to Hawaii". Especially ironic is the Home Depot site, where items are both "unavailable at Hilo" and "unable to ship to GU,PR,VI,AK,HI"...

Search for "Unistrut", or the generic channel made for pipe/conduit "trapezes" in a commercial application. If you are in a "big box" store, look up and notice how the overhead electrical conduits are hung. The cross member on what the piping is clipped to is what I am referring to, hey make it in 1x2, and 2x2. I made a bi fold barn door using the channel, some pipe nipples for the "roller", and all thread rod to hang the doors. Basic, but it worked!

Wouldn`t hurt to check at Atlas Recycling when you are in Hilo...we have found many an odd metal form there....but it is based on luck of timing...
Also keep feelers out at Habitat ReStores...

You can order Home Depot stuff that "doesn't ship to Hawaii" by going to the customer service desk in the store.
They have a forwarder in California who sends it on here. Usually a reasonable shipping charge; my laundry sink cost an extra $5. (But it was $30 cheaper than the only one in the store, so worth it.)

Yes, exactly -- if only I had done this six weeks ago, before I realized the need.

Del's has the rail and "would normally" have the wheels, but "doing inventory so all stock 3-4 weeks out".
Maybe I should just start thinking about what I will want 6 months from now, and assume that the money and shipping will catch up somehow. (This is probably the moral of the story.)
