Kitchen cabinet and counter top redo
#1
Anyone know a good contractor or company for a kitchen remodel with new cabinets and counter tops only? (Thank goodness the appliances are relative new and in good condition.) I have had one bid from an independent contractor and a bid from the Home Depot. The HD bid was just shy of double that of the contractor, so I'm a bit thrown off. I think another opinion is in order. Thanks for any help.

Yes, my friends family owns Jay's Custom Cabinets, Inc. (808) 966-9420

I've seen a lot of photos of their work, its awesome.

We have already decided on no particle board, and we are willing to consider concrete counters. Anybody have any more contractor suggestions?

We went a totally different way than most & eliminated the wood boxes completely, used pitproducts.com Garage Pals boxes & face frame & doors by our own Punawebber Royall (course Royall will also do an awesome job if you want the more standard wood boxes...) along with stainless steel tool boxes for our lower drawer cabinets.

Thanks, Carey. Those look amazing, but we tend to be more traditional. Any other suggestions?

I wanted concrete with colored glass when I redid my kitchen a few years ago, but couldn't find anyone to fabricate.

Also, I was told that concrete counters have to be sealed twice a year.

Well, Royall does do more traditional cabinets.... this house has been the most non-traditional I have ever thought out.... but Royall helped us pull it toogether (cannot tell you how many images I saved & from where we started to where we ended
WELL... you can get a glimpse of what was in the house on the "Kitchen Remodel" composite image near the end... but not the infestations of critters & total lack of counter & storage space that was here! Trying to figure out how to change it was an undertaking & in that, Royall was a great help that I wish we had tapped a few brainstorming years earlier!
