So now the growers, users, sellers want the state to protect them from federal prosecution. Wouldn't that be an obstruction of justice? It's an awful mess IMO and something's got to give. A crackdown or attempted crackdown from someone like Sessions may just be the catalyst for change.

a way to connect the taxes generated by state dispensaries into tax cuts for the rich
Hawaii could simply launder the dispensary revenue through Oahu rail development to inflate the value of real estate held by the rich. It's what they're doing with all the other revenue, might as well..

Actually, what I want is much simpler: State/County can just get out of the way. If the Feds want to enforce, they can send "boots on the ground". Stop interfering in policy with money/power games.
Note the recurring pattern on basically every issue: it's either "States' (Sovereign) Rights" or "Federal Pre-Emption" depending who wants what. Marijuana? Federal pre-emption. Sanctuary state? Sovereign right. What about the "will of the people"?

Meanwhile, in America:

Recreational marijuana sales began shortly after midnight, just months after voters approved legalization in November, marking the fastest turnaround from the ballot box to retail sales in the country.

I'm sure there's a strain of medical marijuana for that.

More like ... available, but you have to figure it out yourself, and there's no quality control.

Just the old free market eh?
Fewer middlemen maybe?

According to the latest Pacific Business News, the Dept o Tax has just signed a $113K contract for armored car service to bring in the $400K/month expected dispensary revenue (based on prices that nobody can forecast yet, and assuming all the dispensaries are open).
Awesome.

Is recreational marijuana going to ever come up for a vote here? I know we are having a difficult time trying to get Medical dispensary open...
It would be rather amusing to get recreational status before the first dispensary even opened!
