I see a number of fishermen using these short, maybe 4-5 foot long poles with no reel at all. Just a short line tied on. They fish from the shore. Since I became ill, we try to go to Reeds Bay beach once or twice a week, as I like took at the sailboats moored there. Anyone know what those poles are called? Do the sell them at the various fishing stores around? Do we need fishing licenses to fish off the shore?

Thanks, dude! I've been in that store a few times looking at airguns or buying pellets and such. The store is pretty impressive.

The poles with no reels are for hang baiting.
