thieves in Puna bust thru your locked front gate with a stolen vehicle...
If I try to stop them myself I could be run over. So instead of something to protect myself with like a gun so the deadly vehicle does not run me over,
Whenever I see this scenario in a movie, a vehicle bearing down on a person walking or running, I think, jump! jump out of the way!
P.S. Shooting at a fast moving car does not stop it instantly.

Slow Walker, I'm thinking technology will provide something *better* than guns, not just pepper spray. Maybe something like a stun gun that can knock out people or car electronics at a distance. The point would be to make it easier and safer to commit most crimes with nonlethal means. Of course there will still be murders, but they will become even more abhorrent and uncommon.
I kinda understand where you are coming from. I'm excited about getting one of the stun guns to stop the vehicle and knock out the people. Would love to try it on a Brinks truck.

Crime will happen regardless, and it will still be illegal. At least with nonlethal means people don't have to die.

Sure, Criminals are going to use non-lethal means to commit crimes because they are concerned for the lives of their victims. On what planet?

I'm not sure some of our current crop of criminals are able to think that far ahead - especially given our current inability to sequester multiple repeat offenders...

There are already an assortment of less lethal weapons available. Smaller caliber guns, all the way down to BB guns, sling shots and just throwing rocks. When was the last time you heard of a criminal choosing one of those options?
I don't buy it. In the criminal world, bigger/badder = better. And the milk and cookies approach epitomizes what is available to us as a legal defense system.

You guys can talk all you want about lethal and non lethal weapons; but I bet every one of you would use whatever means necessary to protect your family. Tyson didn't roll in with bats and guns, he was at a birthday gathering with family.
I and everyone I have talked to who was THERE are convinced that Tyson acted in self defense and prevented a massacre. We'll have to wait and see what the jury decides.
The original post states that Tyson "whipped out his pistol and fired it in the middle of our beach park". That's bullsh*t; and to continue the discussion from that perspective is just ignorant.

Snorkle, After reading the whole post,as I added my say after reading only part of the post. I came across your statement that we are racist. As that is a HEAVY term to use against your bothers and sisters, I wonder if you could tell us how we are racist? I for one only read what is available on puna web. As there are no pictures to see the color of a persons skin that makes "some" persons racist I am lost to your use of the term racist.
Otherwise a certain percentage of persons reading this will say its not based on fact.
As you say we will have to wait for the results of the trial which are not always correct.
