Benefit Concert for the Pohoiki Shooter 9/8/2017
#71
"You guys can talk all you want about lethal and non lethal weapons"

This was a tangential topic, understandable since the original topic was the benefit and that happened 5 days ago. I hope that none of my comments were taken to be disrespectful to any of the subjects of the pre-tangent discussion. And you are correct Snorkle, I would use "whatever means necessary" to protect my family. I just wish it was legal to do so, as per my previous comment.

Back on topic, I appreciate the new details, but I don't understand why it took so long. People on this thread were asking for details early on. If the guy was such a hero, why weren't those details provided BEFORE the benefit? Might have increased attendance, who knows? When details are not provided when asked for, people tend to speculate.....negatively. Then they get bored and go off topic....

Maybe some of you gun owners can help me out here. What is the chance that someone would find a gun (what was it, a pistol?) at a fight that he's never seen before, pick it up, find it loaded, know how to use it and would also actually be able to hit someone with it?

I'm not saying it didn't happen, just wondering about the possibility.

Good Question;.... Tyson saw the wounded man drop his pistol and quickly retrieved it. He obviously knew how to use it.

Snorkle, could you give us a rundown of what happened, as far as you know? Very few details in the press.
I thought it was an armed group attacking an unarmed group; how did one of the armed group get injured and drop their weapon, for example?
Thanks.

Yes, please Snorkle - more data. Tell us the whole story from start to finish and there is a good chance I will amend my OP.

And please include how the preferred scenario is to dive into the gunfight in order to grab a loose gun on the ground and start shooting...
vs
Gathering your keiki, and rushing them AWAY from the altercation & crossfire, while you shield the kids with your body

The Donner Party really wasn't that great of a party, was it?

Snorkel,
After no reply from you as to why you called Puna Webfolk racist. I can understand how the heat of the moment can let words fly. I sometimes have the same problem.
Words quickly spit out are hard to take back when you cannot come up with a tangent or any answer to the question asked. 2cent made me get out my dinothesaurus after the word tangential. I have been too many decades without some re-schooling of words lost.

I hope your friend finds justice.

I can't believe I missed you claiming that "smaller caliber guns" are "less lethal".

OK, you got me. Kinda like saying "less pregnant". Good catch.

We know several of those involved and have spoken with a sober, knowledgeable Pohoiki regular who was in the midst of the action. Only Snorkel has added comments that are based on facts. The rest of you are sure quick to shoot off your ignorant mouths and reveal your half-baked assumptions. If your comment includes the word "probably" then SHUT UP.
