Here's something even the worst of the grumps can get behind: Hilo's chocolate festival at the Hilo Hawaiian Hotel down on Banyan Drive.
This free event to support and expand the growing and processing of cacao on Hawai‘i Island as well as the tourism focus for cacao farm tours and world class chocolate that is created here.
Displays will show the complete chocolate making process “from tree to bar”. 500 free cacao seedlings will be available to take home with printed literature for growing and processing cacao.

There's a paid version over in Kona on the 28th to 29th but tickets run $80 to $135. http://bigislandnow.com/2017/04/25/ticke...-festival/
