"That was true even before climate change started to kick in"
I'm curious, during what part of the last 4.543 billion years was the climate not in a state of change?

The weather will soon not only be unfathomable, but unmeasurable too. There is a newly appointed administrator for NASA. He has no experience related to his position, and is an anti-science climate change denier. He plans to steer NASA away from missions which involve climate studies, which is currently a substantial part of their program.
Fortunately for Hawaii, our new weather satellite is already in orbit, so it's too late for him to do anything about that.

Obie,
"NASA didn't launch that satellite"
I don't understand your point. NASA and NOAA operate the satellite.

I just stated they didn't launch it.
It was a United Launch Alliance vehicle that launched it.
I believe that NOAA should operate it and NASA should be getting back into space exploration.

The satellite (GOES-17) is exploring space. As well as its earth weather sensors, it is monitoring solar events, the space environment beyond low earth orbit and providing NASA with information on the environment astronauts will have to cope with on long-term missions, such as those to Mars. So I still don't understand your point that it wasn't launched by NASA.

It was launched by a private company.
Just a fact. The rocket was owned by a private company, it's something Obama did !

NASA should be getting back into space exploration.
The first private (Japanese) weather satellite didn't reach orbit until less than a year ago. If NASA wasn't involved with weather satellites we wouldn't have the accurate forecasts we receive and rely on today. It's been part of their mission since 1960 with TIROS-1, before Project Mercury took astronauts into space.
