Keep Hawaii Great
#31
only blue politics in Hawaii

Actually, I think the fact that the repubs have not made a dent in local politics is one of Hawaii's redeeming qualities. The right has no place here. They would not be able to cope with our multi-national, multi-cultural lifestyle. But rather would work hard at destroying what makes Hawaii precious. Granted Hawaii politics are all local, and local here is still local.. born and raised small town kine. But still it's a whole lot better than the stuff the repubs are peddling back on the mainland. They are destroying America. Destroying everything they touch.

And again.. I am so grateful for that moat!

Our Hawaii Representatives in the US House:
Ed Case
Tulsi Gabbard

...are now members of the majority party in the US House of Representatives. With other Democrats their party will head every committee, they will be a majority on the committees, and can approve proposals that will now have the possibility of being voted on in Congress. Having Democratic Representatives gives the people of Hawaii more input in to the legislative process.

Committees can also investigate illegal activities and issue subpoenas. Legally binding, enforceable subpoenas.

Such hate-filled projection by a supporter of the party formed to perpetuate slavery and from who the KKK was spawned, against the party formed by Lincoln to END slavery. But, then, projecting their own disgusting behavior onto their opponents is a ESSENTIAL element of the DNC's overall strategy. Your post being a perfect example.

Congratulations RWR, you've injected that mainland poison into our forum.

Hawaii is Dem in name only. Other than a handful, the GOP party in Hawaii is made up of extremists and the less than mentally sane. Most of the moderate and more savvy republicans have been a part of the Dem party going back decades and have planted themselves well in many offices while under the guise of being a Dem, and they have many dents to their credit.

More to the point, and including Hawaii in the discussion, Queen Liliuokalani was overthrown in 1893, while Republican Benjamin Harrison was in office as the President of the United States.

Random facts and coincidences for your indiscriminate consideration and misconstrued conclusions.

Technically correct, but disingenuous. For a century after the civil war, no self-respecting Southern conservative would ever call themselves a Republican. They were referred to as "Southern Democrats" and were known to be "Democrats in name only" (DINOs). Eventually they got over it and just starting accepting that they were Republicans.

The two parties flipped sides regarding race about 60 years ago. Those white men marching around carrying Tiki-Torches, mailing pipe-bombs, and shooting up synagogues and churches are NOT Democrats. I think you may be (to use your own words) "projecting your own party's disgusting behavior onto your opponents".[8D]

I would hoped you could have done better. Sometimes overthrowing a monarch equals freeing their subjects.

No sale. While they have abandoned the robes and ropes, they maintain the bondage in other ways. Ways disguised, but still enslavement. I speak truth to lies, yours included.

"projecting your own party's disgusting behavior onto your opponents"

That describes the way the repubs have behaved perfectly. Perfectly. Though why the original author would be here rather than in some Republican stronghold escapes me. Really, wouldn't you be happier surrounded by like minded people?

The richness of Hawaii is its multi-cultural base. It's liberal acceptance of others. It's diverse foods, and music and ways of looking at things, all held together with aloha. Whereas the repubs have forsaken all of that for white anglo saxon pap. The repubs have decided that to hate anything dissimilar is in vogue. To speak disparagingly of any other other than white nationalism is their means to an end. An end in which they dominate everything and screw the rest of us. The real shame is they are willing to destroy mother earth too. Which in my way of thinking reduces them to nothing more than criminals.
