You can find those numbers easily enough by doing a google search. The counts are updated daily.
Certainty will be the death of us.

Kalianna, Thank you.
Read somewhere that the San Francisco area alone has over 7600 people being Quarantined for the possibility of Coronavirus. They had all just flown back from China and are to limit their contact with others for the month.
No worries, move on!

We won’t know how many Americans are on quarantine or being tested because each state has their own rules for reporting. Florida for example won’t give out info on their suspected cases Or testing because of confidentiality....... lol. Thanks Florida!

“Rivkees said the Department of Health is not authorized to publish the number of people in the state being tested for the virus out of privacy concerns.”
He also said earlier they wouldn’t report any positive tests because of privacy. It seems he has recently changed his position on that thankfully.

I believe hawaii will take the same approach, if they haven’t already.

California, what do you say? Costa Mesa residents lawsuit, thousands at home confinement across the state. Wow.

Washington st had over 700 on at home confinement, no updates on that. Just google each state and add covid 19, interesting local news articles, there one day, gone the next. I wonder why? We don’t want people to panic....... or be “informed”

With only 3 states with actual testing kits......... flawed testing kits....... people being tested negative once, twice only to be diagnosed positive days later...... people being released after being treated testing positive again.... they don’t know what the hell they are doing. CDC disagreeing with WHO.... what a **** show. I’m sure Hawaii is on top of it though...... lmao.

Hope a few people on here were smart enough to drop a few bucks into Gild stock. Im out as of this morning with a wonderful profit. I mentioned this stock to watch for a bump weeks ago due to this virus hootenanny. Now that all the “kook conspiracy” folks are in full panic mode, maybe time to grab a few ounces of silver and or gold.

I really hope the ass clown who ate that bat in a wet market is being punished for all the trouble they caused.

Ah.. but this is day one. What is it going to be in a week or two if ships continue to not be loaded in China? More countries close their borders?

Well at least it's not going to be a pandemic (as the WHO no longer recognizes the previous criteria for declaring one)

Luckily for us, the downturn in Hawaii's economy and the need for quarantines will align nicely for the next series of furlough Fridays (now on Monday - Thursday as well! Wink

Punaweb,
Homeland Security Acting Deputy Secretary Ken Cuccinelli needs your help. He can’t find a recent COVID-19 outbreak map on the internet. This is a high ranking government official whose job priority is to protect you. Send him an email, or post a note on his Twitter account if you can help him out with a link.
When I read things like this, the ongoing level of incompetence at a Federal level even surpasses our local Hawaii Island ineptitude. If COV-19 goes pandemic, we have no test kits, and supposed “acting” officials have no better information at hand than the same public websites we use in Puna. What happened to those manilla folders stamped “Classified” on them? We just might be screwed.

Homeland Security Acting Deputy Secretary Ken Cuccinelli came under fire for asking Twitter if others had trouble accessing Johns Hopkins University's COVID-19 coronavirus map Monday.

Not sure why you choose to put a political spin on a potential plague. He was asking if there is any reason why a public (hopefully transparent) information source might be down.

Edited to add: Johns Hopkins (the source he was trying to connect to) receives billions in federal government dollars. It's not unreasonable for him to expect their web site not to behind a paywall.

"Johns Hopkins University alone received nearly $1.9 billion from the federal government in 2011, more than twice as much as any other university in the country. "

It’s about the cluelessness of one of the people near the top in monitoring the COV-19 virus. He’s supposed to have access to information which allows him and his department to plan and make decisions about the outbreak, which may directly affect all of us in Hawaii. Read back through this thread, there are numerous posts about Chinese officials not doing their jobs, and subsequently letting the virus spread.

If we on Punaweb are using the same information sources as our highest government officials, and those officials are asking Punatics living in the jungle with an internet connection for help - - god help us all.

Why? All he needs is a Sharpie.

We are in agreement that governments on every level have been incompetent at every turn, but the article is a political hit piece and has nothing to do with science or the virus.
