Spectrum TV rip off?

Sales told me over the phone if I wasn,t happy with the service I had 30 days to cancel. Not happy. Took the box to the Spectrum store and was told It can not be returned. They told me to try UPS....not the airport but the store in Pahoa. They have a store in Pahoa?? Anyway, after most of the day running around I got it sent off. at the UPS store. Got a call this morning from a nice lady at at Spectrum telling me even though I returned the box I still have to pay for it!!  We had it app 3 days if you don't count the time it took me to figure out how to return it. Was a warning on the box about Returning an apple TV. Don't have an Apple TV....only the box????  Is this legal ?? I am not tech savvy. Even typing this was a struggle.  Is this legal??? I am 76 yrs old and don't have time for bullshit!!! I got ripped off once because i had auto pay.....Is this legal??  Am I safe?

chrashd, what kind of service did you sign up for? Internet only? Internet and TV? Is the box your modem? What app are you talking about? Try to give a little more information please.

   I already have phone and internet with Spectrum and a modem. I wanted to save a little and bundle everything. When I called the nice lady could not tell me the exact content of the service plan. Try it and if you don't like it you can return it in 30 days.They sent me a funky little Apple box for the TV which was a bit of a struggle to master but really great. The service was not what I wanted. Warning on the box said I could not return the Apple TV if opened. Don't have an Apple TV so never mind.How many people just keep it and pay? Gonna get an increase in SS next month but won't cover bullshit!!   Thanks for the reply.

I'm still not sure what service you signed up for. Go back to the site that offered your trial period deal and have that available. Then call them again and explain the situation. It helps to be patient but firm, rather than confrontational. Definitely play the kapuna card. Good luck.

   Thanks for the help. I will play every card I have so I don't pay $299 for something I can't use.

   They didn't sell it to me yet! If they had the programing I wanted I would be very happy with it. Not happy!!

I think Obie's point is that Apple is a different company from Spectrum and Spectrum doesn't sell Apple products. Did you place this order on a Spectrum site? An Apple site? Can you post the link to the offer your responded to?

 I already have Spectrum phone and internet.I called Spectrum customer service to see what TV programs they had in this area. I lived 20yrs in southeast asia I like some asian news, travel and cooking. When Spectrum was Jones Space Link they had Blue Ocean Network.....nothing like it now on cable. This was like Nancy....gotta buy it to know whats in it!!!

They sent the Apple box back to me!!They tried to but no one home so they left a note. We have an electric gate and never leave it open. This is starting to become a real PITA!
